Vaginal Laser Therapy

CO2RE laser treatment uses fractional CO2 laser and delivers laser energy to resurface the vaginal mucosa. In menopause without the presense of estrogen, the vaginal tissues become thin, white and fragile. This can lead to everyday vaginal dryness, itching, discomfort and pain with sex. When sex becomes painful it is normal to lose your libdio and desire for intimacy. The first line of treatment is vaignal estrogen (bio identical estradiol) applied directly to the vaginal tissue. This treatment can take several months to notice improved results.  If estradiol treatment in the vagina does not give you the results you desire or gives you suboptimal results, CO2RE laser can be used next or in adjunct with estrogen treatment. The normal course of treatment is 3 applications space out every 4 weeks and then once a year as needed. Dr. Taylor used the CO2RE laser on the vaginal tissue and on the external vulva and clitoris after applying numbing cream. Improving blood flow and collagen in the external genitalia is just as important as makeing the vaginal tussies healthier.
